Established by the University Grants Commission in 1994, the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (headquarters in Bangalore) accredits higher education institutions of India after assessing them on various parameters. The NAAC Body executes the assessment and accreditation process of those institutions that volunteer for the process. The aim of NAAC accreditation is to promote emphasis on quality in higher education through a series of initiatives including self-evaluation and accountability as well external quality evaluation. The Department has compiled all the data in prescribed formats as per National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) requirements.
